Role Available: Community Funding Navigator (Buller District)

The Buller Resilience Trust is seeking an independent contractor to deliver a new fixed-term 12-month Community Funding Navigator (Buller district) pilot role (based in the Buller district). This is an exciting new contracted role jointly funded by the Buller Resilience Trust and Development West Coast.

The Community Funding Navigator (Buller district) will work approximately 20–25 hours per week supporting community groups, volunteer organisations, and locally led initiatives to identify funding opportunities and put forward stronger applications. The successful candidate will need to be based in the Buller district.

The person appointed will provide one-to-one support, help run workshops, develop practical tools and templates, and maintain a live pipeline of funding opportunities and supported applications across the district.

This role could suit someone with experience in grant writing, project support, community development, philanthropy, economic development, or the not-for-profit sector. This is a contractor engagement, not an employment position. The successful applicant will contract with the Buller Resilience Trust and invoice for services.

Applications close at 5 pm on the 12th of November 2026. We expect to notify all applicants of the outcome of shortlisting within approximately one week of the closing date.
